There are those times that well....you...just...don't...wanna...cook! We all have 'em. But you soooo don't want pizza or fast food, whats a person on a budget supposed to do???
Well, you can have your favorite restaurant food, just order it to-go. Almost all nice restaurants have a special to go parking spot even and some come to you in the parking lot. How is this a splurge on a shoestring you ask?
Well for starters, there is no Tipping the wait staff and no drinks, now if all you get is sode your savings will probably be about $10-$15 dollars or so, but if you get beer, wine, or mixed drinks your savings is much higher.
Think about it, for the cost of 2 beers at the restaurant you can get yourself a 6 pack, for 2 glasses of wine you can get yourself a whole bottle, those savings really add up.
Not only that, but no cooking means no cleaning and eat out of the to go containers and there isn't any dishes, plus I think my chair/couch at home is much more comfy then the chairs they have :-).
So order out at your fav restaurant, get yourself a bottle o' beer or glass o' wine and sit back and enjoy from your own home....hey this way you can drink as much as you want with no worry about who is driving home!

Wu-Yi Tea
Well I got my box of 2 week trial, but I ordered is soo long ago I didn't even remember doing it!
The outside of the box states to "call this # before opening", what a waste of time. Basically, "Hi, thanks for trying, make sure to follow the directions and drink 2 glasses a day, but hey you MIGHT NOT see any results in 14 days, so try it for a full 90 to see real results!"
As for the taste, is like any Oolong Tea, tastes fine. I had a glass that night and I had a glass today before lunch.
I finally found the website, lets see how easy it is for me to "Opt Out". Here is what they say on their website:
"If you do qualify, you will have 14 full days to decide whether or not this weight loss system is perfect for you. You’ll be charged for the full month supply that you’ll be receiving ONLY if you don’t cancel and return the package before your trial period ends. This is the final day this will be available, so please take advantage of this offer while it is still available. "
Well obviously they are full of shitola! It is still going on.
You have to search to contact them, I found an e-mail address and sent the following:
Dear Mark,
I just received my order of Wu Yi tea, I ordered is so long ago I completely forgot about it. There wasn't any paperwork in the box or on the box.
What do I do to cancel this and send back to make sure I do not receive any more product or bills?
Sincerely

Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse, Garden Grove
We met my parents for Dinner at the Outback Steakhouse, my dad really likes it and I had a $45.00 gift certificate for here that I won in the Raffle! We always like Outback, the food is always good, and so is the service. Both my boys came and my oldest brought his girlfriend which my parents enjoyed.
We used the "call ahead seating" feature they have, so we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waiter was SUPER, super nice, super good. We did the cheese fries $6.99 for an appetizer, I recommend having more then 2 people in order to have this, cause otherwise there is sooo much, you won't be able to eat dinner! Their brown bread is AwEsOme also!
My parents ordered the Chicken platter with fresh veggies $11.99 @, my mom added a salad $2.25 my dad added a soup $2.25. My son's girlfriend ad the chicken salad $11.49, all my guys had the Ribs $18.49, I had the special, filet with shrimp and scallops $19.99. My son, his girlfriend & dad had water only, me, my mom, & hubby had water and diet coke, my other son had a sprite, with unlimited refills so 4 @$2.50. It was ALL good as usual.
We split two desserts, Chocolate thunder $5.99 and Cinnamon Special $5.99, man I wish I had more of that Cinnamon one! Good Stuff! Total bill after the discount and before tip $105.59.
We will be BACCCK

Roy's - $20 GC from AMEX
Roy's Newport Beach, 453 Newport Ctr Drive, Newport Beach, 949-640-7697
We went to Roy's because I had received a $20 giftcard from Amex. We went to the bar for our usually drink and appetizer check out.
I had had a very very bad day so I started off with a Roy's Famous Mai Tai ($10.00) Very Very Good! Hubby had a Meyers and diet coke tall ($8.00). The food looks good but it is kinda foo foo (our word for regular items mixed with weird shit!) So we settled for the Scallop Appetizer. ($12.50). It was very good but there wasn't much of it.
Over all I like the place, the ambiance and service, however; we wouldn't eat here cause the food it too foo fooish and they are relatively expensive.
Our bill before the $20.00 gc and tax was $52.26, kind of high for 4 drinks and 1 small appetizer! Again the main reason we went was there are other restaurants in the area we like and it was a nice way to check it out with out spending a huge amount of money!

1 cent Saki, Limit (3) Per Table - Seriously
Nori Sushi - 24001 Via Fabricante #903, Mission Viejo, CA 92691 Nori Sushi recently opened up and this is the second time we have been. We really love the ambiance! It is nicely decorated, the middle area has a lovely water element, the music is contemporary Japanese. We are always greeted and seated promptly. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
The food is plentiful and reasonably priced! And right now they have the 1 cent Sake deal going on. This is the standard little bottle not 1 glass, it is the warm saki (I prefer cold), but there is a limit of 3 per table!!
One thing I love about this place is there different and unique rolls. If you are on a carb diet you are going to love this, they have a Lettuce Wrap Roll ($8.50)! It is big and it is yummy! I ordered that for dinner my husband ordered the Sizzling Hot Skillet Chicken Teriyaki ($9.50) comes with rice & salad, I had him order the 3 pc Sashimi ($2.50) side dish for me ;-) He is a picky eater so not only did I have his side dish, I end up eating the Soybeans, Miso Soup and Pickled Cucumbers that is served before dinner. He also ordered a Saporo Beer, and we couldn't resist, 2 sakes for yes 2 cents! For dessert we had Moochi? Balls ($4.00). It was like a melon ice cream with some kind of thing on the outside. I have no idea exactly what, but it was good.
The only thing about the dinner is the dressing on the salad, it is not the typical dressing, it is onionish and I didn't like it. They also didn't give you any dipping sauces for the sashimi. Other then that this place is great and we will be back.
Our total bill before tip was $35.95, and it was so much food I ended up bring half my wrap home!

Kabob House Bar & Grill / Savings $16
One of the reasons I Love the Entertainment Book besides the discounts is the new places to try.
We went out to diner the other day and decided to go thru the book for something new and found
"The Kabob House" Bar & Grill - 46 Auto Center Dr, Ste. 116, Lake Forest, CA 92610
We really liked it. The atmosphere is very inviting. They had live music, a nice bar, a fireplace, it was very nicely lit. We were greeted and seated right away.
They brought us the menus, water and flat bread to start with. We ordered the Hummus appetizer ($4.99) it was eaten with the bread they brought us earlier.
I ordered a Kenwood Brut Split (yes I am over 21 :-( my husband ordered a Rum and Diet Coke ($8.00). I had the Shrimp Kabob dinner which was 8 shrimp (which were yummy!) with onions and peppers (eewwwhh) plus rice ($16.99). My Husband had the Chicken & Shrimp Kabob which came with onions & pepper(ewwhh) and tomatoes (yummy, which I ate, he doesn't do veggies;-) ($25.99) He had a Heineken with dinner ($5.00) and we had Baklava (which was the best we have ever had) ($5.99)
For the most part we really enjoyed our meal. I would have preferred that the bread be warm and the rice serving was on the small side and Baklava was 2 small pieces.
Our total bill was $80.77 before tip, but we got a $16.00 discount with the Entertainment Book.
We will probably go back again, more for drinks at the bar and dessert then dinner.

King's Fish House
King's Fish House - 24001 Ave. De la Carlotta, Laguna Hills, CA
We come here quite often. There are two sides, on side is more of a dinner area, the other side has the bar. We have eaten on both sides but we prefer the Bar side as it is brighter and usually no wait.
While the food is almost always great the service tends to be fair as often as it is good. Tonight for example we were almost ready to leave before the waiter came over with bread and the menus. The bread was burnt on the bottom which was a poor way to start. He was leaving and the waitress that took over was very good.
My husband gets the same thing EVERY time we come, the Nawlins BBQ Shrimp which comes with shrimp, Leeks and Tomatoes (I eat the tomatoes after the sauce has dripped off) Garlic Bread and Rice, however he always changes out the rice for the Corn which is always Perfection! ($18.95), and 2 Heineken ($9.90) I had water and Tilapia which comes with 2 sides, I chose the Corn (of course) and Garden Veggies ($16.95). And we had her bring us another loaf of bread, unburnt this time!
Our total bill before tip was $49.35. We really like this restaurant and we will continue to go as the prices are reasonable and the food is good, even if the service occasionally is lacking.
