We are working on reducing the debt we owe, #1 we aren't charging unless we need to, and #2 I sell items thru ebay and amazon, so when I get that money I am putting it against the cards that were "1 yr same as cash" purchases.
It is sloooow going, but it needs to be done, this extra money is in addition to the regular scheduled payments.
We will see how it goes, I am sending an extra 30 this month, I hope the following months are a wee bit better ;-)

Credit Changes coming to Card near you (your wallet!)
Remember, credit card changes are a'happen'. In the long run it will be good for us but sometimes it hurts in the beginning.
Check out this link MSN you will find it very helpful.
Again, I have stopped using my cards as much as possible and I always pay at least a little more then the minimum due.

Check your Interest on your Credit Card Statements!
There is a lot of change coming for Credit Card companies, and most of it looks to be good for the consumer, but there is a downside.
Check your interest rates, since the CC companies know it is coming they are jackig up the rates (to as much as 24%) and you have to call to "opt out". Be aware that opting out means you are not going to be using that card anymore. The first time you do the rate will go back up to 24%.
For those that don't opt out, you may be one of the "few" lucky ones that after 6 months of 24% your rate will go down! What a crock of u no what!

Check your Credit Card Bills!
Hey People,
When is the last time you looked at your credit card bill? I mean really looked? Maybe put them all side by side to see if anything pops?
Well, I don't know about you but with 2 boys (or 3 if you count my hubinski) online games, music subscriptions, etc I started really looking at the bills and asking on "unfamiliar" items.
At one time they used 2 different games but I know we cancelled one a while ago and yet it is STILL being billed. Unfortunately it is on the one card I can't open a dispute on electronically and they are closed by the time I get home. So I have a todo list of items to call and/or cancel.
If you cancel a subscription, which we did on a few, make sure if it is thru email you keep the cancellation, it if is on the phone make sure you get a cancellation number!
It might not seem like much but 9.99 here, and 12.99 there etc adds up in the long run.
Get all your card statements out, make sure no duplicate billings, they were billing us twice, once in my husbands name which I cancelled and once in my name! Assholeos!
The sooner you get the dispute going the sooner you get your credits back and they don't charge interest on the disputed items.

Go Paperless - Save Trees & the Earth
One of the easiest ways to Go Green is to go Paperless. What am I talking about? Sign up for e-mail alerts for all your statements. I have been getting email statements from my CU for over 5 years, before "Green" was IN.
Anytime I have a chance I signup for e-mail statements. It helps by reducing the amount of paper used, not just in statements but envelopes and stamps as well. Not only that but it uses a lot of WATER to make paper and the runof is not good for the environment.
If you also sign up for EFT - Electronic payments then you save even more trees and money. You don't have to buy stamps or envelopes!
Another benefit, if you go paperless no one can steal your mail and then steal your identity or your cards, just a side benefit that is worth its weight in gold as CC fraud and Identy theft are the fastest growing crimes right now!
