AT&T Home Mini Tower

We have very bad cell reception at our house.  A few years ago they were going to put a cell tower in a park but some yahoos with the heads up their U no whats put a petition around saying it would decrease the home values?  Really??? Arse.....bad cell reception is worse then a cell phone tower that looks like a tree in a park.... idiots....sorry enough of my rant...deep breath....

anywhodoodles.... we have had both Verizon and recently AT&T ...cause I wanted the IPhone :-)  so while the Iphone is great the service...well....sucks!  However they just came out with these mini towers for the home.  We bought one and we know have 5 bars of service.

We are going to monitor it for a month or so and if it seems to have solved the problem we will be getting rid of our home phone.  Which at this time is only used by telemarketers and my son racking up toll bills talking to his girlfriend because he couldn't use his cell phone in the house.

That should have me around 30-40 bucks a month, cut down on the annoying phone calls and make my son happy.  The ROI on the tower is about 4 months.

Does the tower work off your home phone though? Or is it a repeater tower that relays to the next closest tower?

(PS, your comments turn this site into a frame breaker, which violates the TOS of ExposeYourBlog!. Check out our forums on how to fix that...)

The tower works thru the internet somehow to give your cell phones 5 bars. At home we were lucky if we had 1 bar, so we had to use the land line for calls sent and received from home.

Now we have 5 bars all the time and don't have to use the land line at all.

Thanks for the heads up on the comments I will get it fixed.
