I have to say, myself, that I have not and don't intend to buy an E-reader. Why? Since I am clearly a bookaholic? Because I can't bring myself to pay for the E-reader and then pay 9.99 for a book I can get cheaper. Not only that but I can resell it or trade it in for another book. None of this is doable on an E-reader.
My husband says that there are those willing to pay the 9.99 for the convience. It is there at any time, can hold a lot of books...ect. None of these are selling points for me.
I belong to BOMC2 which sends me HARDback books including shipping for 9.99. I go to used bookstores and get my books for $1 to $5 dollars, I then resell or trade them in for new ones. The only way an E-book would interest me is if the books were more like $5. Heck I can get a new paperback for $7!!!
And I don't care what the publishers say, the most cost is the BOOK! Shipping alone has to be outrageous, to think consumers are stupid and can't see thru there money grubbing is down right insulting.
Since you don't have to print the book (using paper and ink), bind the book, ship the book, or inventory the book, there is a huge savings that should be passed to the consumer, not shoved in their wallets.
Book readers unite! Refuse to buy books over $9.99, they will get the hint or ignore it at their own peril.
