I received a call from Tony, at Cash4Gold, so I called them back, he basically tried to tell me that I had 10 days from the date on the check to contact them and I hadn't done it in time.
I let him know that the date on the check was 3 days before the POSTmark and since I was in CA it took about 8 of those 10 days to reach me.
I also let him know that I called and sent an email within those 10 days, he basically said that it was too bad, they had melted the items and he offered me $165 for my items.
I told him I had to think about it and would call them back.

In the future, you may want to try the SIlver and Gold Exchange. They post the prices they pay on their website plus they call you as soon as they receive your items and tell you personally what they will pay. If you arent happy with the price, they send the items back that same day. If you are happy, they pay you that same day. They also send a Fedex Agent to pick up your gold instead of sending you a business reply envelope. They insure the package up to $25,000 instead of a max of $100. I like their system much better. They are at http://SIlverAndGoldExchange.com
