As you all know I have been working on bringing my electric bill down. I got my recent bill and it stated 2 years ago my daily usage was 76.32, last year it was 68.93 and this year it is 49.66 and yet even with this reduction I am STILL in the top 5 tier??
How is this possible? Do I need to change to candles and a wood stove?
Oh and I have different sections on my bill - "Delivery" Charge and "Generation" Charge I guess a basic (bend u over with lube) and (bend u over more without lube) charges which have different numbers in the SAME tier??
Basic "Delivery" charge Tier 1 is 326 kWh or 10.18 kWh a day and
Basic "Generation" charge Tier 1 is 251 kWh or 7.84 kWh a day
I WANT TO KNOW WHO COMES UP WITH THE "BASIC" NUMBER - HOW IS IT BROKEN DOWN? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME IT WAS UPDATED? I WOULD LIKE SOME FREAKING ANSWERS PLEASE CAUSE THIS IS JUST WRONG!

The electric companies have us all by the stones mate. That’s just how it works and the only way to lower your bill is to become solar powered!
I think it depends on your provider. I would suggest shopping around if you don’t feel you’re getting the best rate.
I think the more you try to reduce you usage the more they charge you for “basic”
Keep in mind that even though your daily usage went down, the costs of electricity went up so so you rob Peter to pay Paul.Your tier level is type of account:Home, business,or industry, government, etc. You have no choice in that matter per se.
An idea that really helps me to budget my utility expenditures is to go on the budget account where you pay a certain amount each month so the higher usage months will not bankrupt you.I pay $79 a month rather than the $200-0220 during 4 months of the year for winter.
